Vodafone makes bid for Kabel Deutschland

Within the past week Vodafone has made an informal takeover bid for Germany’s largest cable operator Kabel Deutschland, according to the news agency Bloomberg which cited people with knowledge of the matter.
Takeover talks have not formally begun because Kabel Deutschland believes the price offered by Vodafone is too low, the report states. Discussions could start as soon as Vodafone comes back with a higher price, the sources said.
Spokespersons from both Vodafone and Kabel Deutschland didn’t want to comment on the rumours.
It was first reported in February 2013 that Vodafone was considering the acquisition of Kabel Deutschland.
The Munich-based company has a market value of around €6.62 billion.
