German home-shopping broadcaster Channel 21 has set up a live stream on YouTube, marking it the first German TV channel to distribute its 24-hour service in real time on Google’s video portal.
According to the broadcaster, the YouTube channel provides the perfect streaming solution to reach Internet-capable devices such as computers, laptops, smartphones, tablets and connected TV sets, thereby increasing its availability. At the same time, Channel 21 wants to make itself accessible to younger target groups.
The YouTube channel complements the live stream on its own website. Channel 21 is also available via cable, satellite and DTT to more than 35 million households.
