TWC offers ‘thank you’ packages to subs affected by CBS retrans row

Simultaneously rewarding loyalty while attempting to beat the blackout, Time Warner Cable has offered its subs affected by the CBS retrans row a ‘thank you’ package including an antenna to receive affected channels.
CBS has removed its channels from TWC in a long and bitter battle centred on a new fee structure for content. TWC insists that the fees CBS is looking for are unprecedented, unreasonable and unacceptable, while the content company described its new tariff as “fair compensation”. There seems no end in sight to the dispute with CBS CEO Les Moonves dismissing as grandstanding TWC’s offer to resolve the dispute through à la carte programming.
TWC says that the package is gesture to recognise the frustration caused to customers during the on-going disputes with CBS and Journal Broadcast Group. It includes a free VOD movie coupon for digital subscribers or an Amazon gift card for analogue customers; the complimentary basic indoor antenna which will enable subscribers in the affected areas to pick up some blacked out channels; a free Starz Kids/Family preview; a Tennis Channel free preview.
