In an extension of their working relationship, US TV provider Verizon has tapped Synacor TV everywhere technology to bring exclusive round-the-clock live streams of the US Open Tennis Championships.

The live access will be available 24/7 exclusively to Verizon FiOS’s nearly five million TV subscribers via an embedded video player on a dedicated Verizon start page. This allows FiOS TV subscribers to access live linear and on-demand programming and includes a search and discovery experience, authentication and the ability to log in just once.

Synacor claims a proven track record of leveraging TV everywhere to bring high profile sporting events to pay-TV subscribers and its startpages offer pay-TV providers a branded, customised, and revenue-generating solution which it says simultaneously increases satisfaction, loyalty and engagement among their subscribers.

In May 2013, Synacor expanded its relationship with Verizon to include TV everywhere services for FiOS subscribers and has also worked with Turner Broadcasting System to bring 2013 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament games to customers. In 2012, Synacor provided authentication for NBCUniversal’s TV Everywhere Summer Olympics on behalf of nearly 40 customers, reaching 25 million subscribers.
