Viacom International Media Networks France and Sony Computer Entertainment France have inked a content deal by which the Game One video game TV channel, as well as its catch-up TV service, will be launched on PlayStation consoles by the end of this year.

Through a dedicated app, Game One will be available to owners of PS3, PS4 and PS Vita consoles.

Players with a PSN (PlayStation Network) account will be able to watch the channel live as well as in replay for a fee of €2.99 for three months or €6.99 for a year.

Subscribers to PlayStation premium service will benefit from a preferential fee of €1.99 for three months or €3.99 over the year along with additional services.

These will include free-of-charge monthly access to three episodes of all the Game One, MTV and Nickelodeon line-up with a download-to-own service.

Thierry Cammas, SVP, GM at Viacom International Media Networks France, sees this “innovative agreement with Sony Computer Entertainment” as a way for Game One to extend its distribution to OTT platforms, beyond traditional dish and cable broadcasts.

This multi-platform and multiscreen strategy also gives users a new experience of enriched TV, both linear and non-linear, he added.
