Innovation agency offers start-ups £100K to help shape future of advertising

A new digital innovation competition run by UK agency IC tomorrow, part of the Technology Strategy Board, is offering four companies a share of £100,000 in funding digital advertising projects.
Held in association with the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA), the Digital Innovation Contest Advertising will give the companies the chance to work with some of the biggest names in advertising and innovation.
The contest challenges and their partners are: next-generation social media analytics tools Internet Advertising Bureau UK (IAB); enhanced TV advertising Vizeum; innovation in hyper local advertising Nesta; smart mobile advertising Mars Chocolate UK and MediaCom. In addition to the cash injection, the successful applicants will also retain all of their IP, and work in partnership to trial their solution with the respective contest partner.
The advertising sector has always been shaped by innovation. Were looking for talented entrepreneurs and start-ups to uncover the next generation of solutions that will keep the sector at the top of its game, commented Matt Sansam, programme manager at IC tomorrow. Added Janet Hull, director of marketing and reputation management at the IPA: This contest provides a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to see their ideas come to life. Its a win-win for all parties and by working together we will accelerate the opportunity for new technology to make its mark.
