German pay-TV operator Sky Deutschland will continue to show its subscribers live games of the Premier League following a new multi-year exclusive contract with the UK football league.

Most weekends, the subscription broadcaster will screen three live matches. There will also be a highlights programme featuring players including Lukas Podolski, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie.

Sky has also secured the exclusive Internet and mobile TV rights for Germany and Austria. Football fans can watch the Premier League games through the over-the-top TV (OTT) service Sky Go on the iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, Xbox 360 and the Internet.

Sky’s online video platform Sky Mediathek will continue to offer highlights from the Premier League on the Internet. This service is free and financed through advertising.
