MBC launches new TV channel on My-HD

MBC Variety, the latest subscription-based high definition (HD) channel from the Dubai-based broadcaster, is launching across the Middle East and North Africa on the My-HD platform.
MBC Variety offers premium Western general entertainment and films, free from commercial breaks, with English audio and Arabic subtitles. It is available exclusively with the encrypted My-HD service, broadcast via Arabsat at 26 degrees East.
“Our successful partnership with My-HD continues to be extremely fruitful as we enhance our existing offering of premium HD channels to our customers. MBC Variety is a milestone as it is our ninth HD channel,” said Sam Barnett, CEO, MBC Group.
Cliff Nelson, CEO, My-HD, added: “We are delighted to expand our range of HD channels with the addition of the completely new MBC Variety channel to our ever growing line-up, taking the total of HD channels to 42, more than any other DTH satellite TV platform in the region.”
