Francetv pluzz receives prize at Windows Apps Awards

France Télévisions received the Best Entertainment and Media App prize yesterday (11 February) at the first Windows Apps Awards France 2014 edition for its catch-up service francetv pluzz.
The ceremony, which took place during the Tech.Days, awarded the best Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 apps.
Francetv pluzz is available on both standards and enables viewers to watch programmes from the group’s 38 national, regional and local channels in metropolitan France and overseas territories both live and on catch-up.
“The development of dedicated apps is part of France Télévisions’ digital and hyper-distribution strategy which allowed the group to break new records in terms of video views last January,” France Télévisions commented, giving the figure of 106 million videos views.
Web, mobile and tablet traffic also reached new heights with 73 million visits.
