TotalChannel is the first Spanish online TV platform to utilise the PS3 to bring TV into homes. The OTT service this week launched a Sony app to broadcast 12 pay-TV channels – nine of them in HD – through the gaming console.

AXN HD, AXN White HD, Calle 13 HD, Cosmopolitan HD, Fox HD, Fox Crime HD, National Geographic HD, Paramount Comedy, SyFy HD, TNT HD, History and Crime & Investigation will be available for connected PS3s by subscribing to the service.

As it did with previous apps, TotalChannel will include a free testing period of 200 minutes when users download the app for the first time. In addition, thanks to an agreement with Sony, users of PS Plus will get 20% off TotalChannel’s largest offer.

The online TV platform, which has been operating for a year, is the only one in Spain to become available for Sony devices. Yomvi and Movistar Go are banking on mobile and smart devices, while Magine is still exploring its options through a beta version.

"We have now achieved a high level of usability which, together with PS3 power, will allow viewers to enjoy our content in the best conditions," said María del Carmen Fernández, manager at TotalChannel.
