Sky Deutschland has acquired new movie packages from rights holders Tobis, Prokino and SquareOne Entertainment including the German TV debut rights of several Oscar-nominated titles.
The films the German pay-TV broadcaster has secured include Oscar contenders American Hustle, 12 Years a Slave, Philomena, August: Osage County and Before Midnight.
Also part of the line-up are movies featuring Oscar-winning actors like Grace of Monaco with Nicole Kidman, Philomena with Judi Dench and All is Lost with Robert Redford as well as The Butler.
In addition to distribution on Sky’s movie channels the contracts also cover the subscription video-on-demand (VOD) rights for the mobile and on-demand services Sky Go and Sky Anytime.
